Franz Ferdinand to play Obama benefit tonight (October 7)

They join Fiery Furnaces, Les Savy Fav in Williamsburg

Franz Ferdinand have been unveiled as the special guests at tonight’s Barackrock benefit in Brooklyn.

The band will join Fiery Furnaces, Andrew Bird, Eugene Mirman and Kumail Nanjiani at the event, a fundraiser for presidential hopeful Barack Obama.

Alina Simone, Heather Lawless, Guster , Lizz Winstead, Martin Bisi, John Roberts and Adira Amram will also help raise money for the Obama campaign, as will Les Savy Fav who will perform an acoustic set.

The event will take place at the Music Hall of Williamsburg where the acts will perform over several stages including the Stage for Change, where seven musical acts and seven speaking acts will be ‘Hyping the Hope’, plus the Obama Room where the presidential debate will be screened and ticketholders can register to vote.

Meanwhile, Franz Ferdinand will perform their own headlining show at the same venue tomorrow night (October 8).
