Franz Ferdinand have announced a full UK and Irish tour for 2009.

The band, who play a one-off sold out Shockwaves NME Awards Show at London's Heaven on January 20, will hit the road in February following the release of their third album 'Tonight: Franz Ferdinand' on January 26.

They play:

Glasgow Barrowlands (4)
Manchester Academy (6)
Birmingham Academy (8)
London Hammersmith Apollo (9)

Tickets go on sale at 9.30am (GMT) on Friday (December 12).
