Franz Ferdinand drew a huge crowd for their triumphant return to the Main Stage at T In The Park tonight (July 10).

Kicking off their crowd-pleasing set with 'Do You Want To', guitarist Nick McCarthy strutted around in sequinned trousers as frontman Alex Kapranos raised his arms to the thousands who gathered to see the T veterans play for the first time since 2006.

The Scottish art-rockers were clearly enjoying themselves as they tore through tracks from their extensive back-catalogue of hits including 'Ulysses' and 'Michael', barely pausing for breath between songs.

"Take a minute to absorb what's around you," said Kapranos. "This is really a beautiful site", he added, before launching into 'The Dark Of The Matinee', which saw people far up the hill pulling shapes and dancing.

The crowd reserved most of their energy for 2004 smash hit 'Take Me Out', which saw the whole crowd bouncing to every beat and singing back every word in unison.

Ending their set with the epic disco of 'Lucid Dreams', the band walked off stage one by one until only drummer, Paul Thomson was left when he proceeded to make the ecstatic crowd dance one last time to the beat of his drums.
