Freelance Whales: 'We didn't fake busking history!'
'We were regularly busking for six hours at a time,' Judah Dadone explains
The Williamsburg-based band have said they regularly used to busk in the New York subways, and Dadone told NME that they were forced into the role for "practical" reasons.
"It certainly wasn't done 'for the story'," Dadaone said. "I mean, we were regularly down there for six hours at a time. It was because it actually worked. it was fun. Most bands at our level are lucky if they can get 60 people together in a room to watch them, but if you stay down in the subway you'll meet maybe 600 people."
