Champion's League final: Chelsea v Man Utd musician face-off

Who is supporting who for tonight's big football clash?

Manchester United and Chelsea are preparing to square up tonight (May 21) in the Champions League final in Moscow.

But which stars from the music world will be cheering on who come 7.45 (BST)? We've come up with a Musician's XI for each team, made up of supporters of each.

Manchester United Musician Supporters' XI

GK: Ross Millard, The Futureheads
LB: Richard Ashcroft, The Verve
CB: Mani, Primal Scream
CB: Peter Hook, New Order
RB: Ed O'Brien, Radiohead
LM: Mick Hucknall
CM: Ian Brown
CM: Russell Watson
RM: John Squire
F: Tim Burgess, The Charlatans
F: Gaz Coombes, Supergrass

Chelsea Musician Supporters' XI

GK: Martine McCutcheon
LB: John Taylor, Duran Duran
CB: Jimmy Page, Led Zeppelin
CB: Damon Albarn
RB: Andy Fletcher, Depeche Mode
LM: Bryan Adams
CM: Suggs
CM: Paul Oakenfold
RM: Johnny Borrell, Razorlight
F: Dave Gahan
F: Madonna

What do you think of our selections? Should we have put Madonna between the sticks? Maybe given Ian Brown a free roaming role behind the front two? Or do you know any closet Chelsea or Man Utd fans in bands.

Liam Fray should've made the United team. Maybe he would be the better "tough-tackling" RB than Ed O'brien. He could also play LB giving Johnny Borrell a good kicking. Move ashcroft to RB and let Fray have it at Borrell! Fray is after all a United fan, it would be the better choice.

Surely the Fratellis up front for the blues? Chelsea Dagger and all that. And isn't Usher the biggest United fan? Surely he'd beat Madonna up front

No doubt with Noel and Liam Gallagher being the biggest Man City fans they will be rooting for the Chelsea boys tonight. A wee cameo for either Liam or Noel up front for the Blues wouldn't be ridiculous would it?

Bonehead (ex-Oasis) is a united fan, hence Definately Maybe's cover featuring a picture of Georgie Best (it was shot in his apartment).Stick him and Liam Fray in for Russell Watson and Hucknall and make Terry Hall manager!

I'm a liverpool fan but i personally think that united have the better musical fans as, although it pains me to say it, manchester is probably the UKs best city for music. butttt.................................come on chavski!!!!!!!

What about Paul Weller. I could have sworn he was a Chelsea fan? I could just see him running rings around mani and Pater Hook. Now that would be entertainment!
