Friendly Fires got Day Three of Coachella off to a roaring start with a high-voltage set that got the entire Gobi tent dancing despite the sweltering midday heat.

Frontman Ed Macfarlane was slightly less animated than usual at the beginning of their set, commenting, "How English I am - I can't take this heat." But the lethargy didn't last long and he was soon shaking his hips and banging on cowbells.

The heat didn't prevent most of the people in the tent from dancing throughout the St Albans band's 50-minute set, and forming a circular conga line in the midst of the massive crowd.

The band played most of the tracks off of their 2009 debut album, including 'White Diamonds', 'Photobooth', 'Paris' and 'Jump In The Pool', which had many audience members singing along and dancing with their hands in the air.

When NME.COM asked how the band felt about playing Coachella for the first time, guitarist Edd Gibson responded, "It's almost like Christmas. When we were kids in England we saw the immense line-up and gathering of everyone we love - it was so out of reach for us, and now to be able to play it as a band is ludicrous."
