Friendly Fires to headline suicide awareness concert in London
The event will celebrate the life of the band's late friend Adam Connolly
Friendly Fires will play a headline set at an event at London's XOYO on December 12 in order to raise funds and awareness to prevent suicide amongst young men.
The evening will also see live sets from Cheatahs and some as yet to be announced 'special secret live guests'.
DJs for the evening will be Beyond The Wizard's Sleeve (Erol Alkan), Chapel Club, Ben Cornershop, Trailer Trash Tracys, Charlie Bones (NTS), Sexbeat and The Holy Trinity DJ and the event will be hosted by comedian and broadcaster Mat Horne.
The event is being held in the memory of Adam Connolly - a friend of Friendly Fires – who committed suicide earlier this month. The gig's Facebook page listing reads:
The friends and family of Adam Connolly, who tragically took his own life on 14th November, have joined together to organise a party on Wednesday 12th December to celebrate his life and to raise awareness and funds to prevent suicide among young men.
It continues: "Perhaps it sounds a tad predictable in these kind of circumstances but we wanted to do something that celebrates Adam's life, his amazing creativity, and his beautiful warm, kind soul as well as showing how much we deeply love and miss him."
"The evening of the 12th is our way of sharing a little bit of happiness around recent events by picking out some music by a selection of bands and djs that mean something to Adam in one way or another."
Profits from the evening will go to a charity selected by Adam's family.
