Fucked Up release Christmas single with Vampire Weekend, GZA, TV On The Radio
Bob Mould, Andrew WK also feature on 'Do They Know It's Christmas?'
Fucked Up's version of the Band Aid song 'Do They Know It's Christmas?', featuring Vampire Weekend's Ezra Koenig and Wu Tang Clan's GZA, has been released.
The new version of the 1984 charity song also features Yo La Tengo, Bob Mould, Andrew WK, TV On The Radio's Kyp Malone, comedian David Cross and Broken Social Scene's Kevin Drew.
Proceeds for the song will go to the charities Justice For Missing And Murdered Indigenous Women, the DTES Power Of Women Group andSisters In Spirit.
Fucked Up frontman Pink Eyes said: "It's hard to find a balance between the song being a fun, playful holiday classic and the reason we’re putting it out, to benefit organisations dealing with a deadly, serious issue."
The song is available now as a download and will be released as a seven-inch vinyl single in February. The vinyl release will feature an as-yet-unconfirmed new Fucked Up song as its B-side.
