Funeral For A Friend have said the addition of new bass player Rich Boucher and guitarist Gavin Burrough has "reinvigorated the band."

The Welsh hardcore band, who are touring with a new line-up after the departure of long-time members Darran Smith and Gareth Davies, were speaking at the Download Festival today (June 11).

Chatting to NME singer Matt Davies-Kreye said of the new members: "2011 has been the best year we've had for a long time. The new guys have reinvigorated us. Our creativity, our desire to make music that tears our and our audience's balls off. We've hit our stride again, we're the most comfortable we've been as a band for a long time."

The frontman added that though the band had a good deal of touring booked for the next few months, including a UK trek in October, they were already making plans for new material. He said: "We're always thinking about new stuff. We're writing, demoing songs as they come, we're not forcing things. We're even thinking of doing some old hardcore covers for something in the future."

Funeral For A Friend headlined the Pepsi Max Stage at Download with a set heavy on recent material. The show, which was their fourth appearance at the annual rock bash, included five songs from their new album 'Welcome Home Armageddon'.

They ended their set with traditional closer 'Escape Artists Never Die'.

Funeral For A Friend played:

'Roses For The Dead'
'Damned If You Do, Damned If You Don't'
'Broken Foundation'
'She Drove Me To Daytime Television'
'End Of Nothing'
'Spinning Over The Island'
'Front Row Seats To The End Of The World'
'Escape Artists Never Die'
