Future Of The Left kick off Reading Festival
Cardiff rockers slam Reverend And The Makers at the start of the bash
The band played a frenetic set to a busy crowd despite their early billing, with frontman Andy Falkous kicking off the festival by slamming Reverend And The Makers.
"Reverend And The Makers are shit," he said before playing opener 'Wrigley Scott'.
The set got considerably 'sweeter', however, as bassist Kelson Mathias had brought a selection of confectionery items with him onstage, offering them as incentives for audience members to dance.
"Who wants a fucking drumstick?" he yelled before playing 'Manchasm', prompting cheers from the crowd, before hurling a lollipop into the front row near the end of the song.
The band ended their set with 'Adeadenemyalwayssmellsgood', before which Falkous urged fans to "write 'Twat' on the tourbus of the first American band who pronounces the festival 'Reed-ing' and asks what you're reading."
Future Of The Left played:
'Wrigley Scott'
'Plague Of Onces'
'Fingers Become Thumbs'
'Manchasm'
'VDFA'
'Small Bones Small Bodies'
'The Lord Hates A Coward'
'My Gymnastic Past'
'Adeadenemyalwayssmellsgood'
