Gallows threaten to 'quit' during Sheffield gig

Gallows admitted live onstage in Sheffield last night (June 11) that they have been thinking about quitting.

The punks were playing the city’s Leadmill venue when frontman Frank Carter told the audience he had been feeling the pressure following the band’s recent rise.

“I’m going to level with you guys, I was out there crying before because I don’t know if I can do this any more,” Carter declared from the stage. "I don’t know if I can play for you cunts any more.”

However the singer said that his mood had changed – and the band had gone on with the gig – after phoning home.

“I was on the phone to my mum and I said, ‘I’ve had enough of this shit’. My mum said to me, ‘You’re just like me, you care too much’,” explained Carter, adding that Gallows would continue. “It’s too important for us to quit.”

The Hertfordshire band are now set to head to the US for the Warped Tour before playing the Carling Weekend: Reading And Leeds Festivals in August.
