Gallows have talked about Download Festival 2007 in an exclusive interview with the NME Radio Download Show.
The rock festival took place last weekend (June 8-10) and was headlined by My Chemical Romance, Linkin Park and Iron Maiden. Gallows played the Dimebag Darrell stage on the Saturday (June 9).
Speaking about the event, singer Frank Carter said: “This day has been amazing, we were all shitting ourselves, nervous as hell and then we played in front of 8-10,000 people and they all loved it and shouted: ‘Gallows’. It’s changed out lives…I couldn’t talk for 30 minutes afterwards.”
Carter also revealed that they drafted in a new member when their bassist Stuart Gili-Ross went missing.
He said: “We were worried as our bass player went missing... We taught Wade (Keighran) all the bass parts just in case, we were gonna make him do it anyway just to teach Stuart a lesson, but luckily he made it on time.”
NME Radio Download show can be heard every day at 2pm and 7pm on NME.COM/radio.
Also on the show, we catch The Scare pissing in the sink, we ask My Chemical Romance’s Gerard Way what he thinks of Marilyn Manson, and talk to Paramore, Megadeth and many more.
