Gallows singer splits head open onstage

Gallows singer Frank Carter split his head open last night (September 15) during a gig at Stoke Sugarmill.

The incident, which required Carter to cut the gig short and rush to hospital, occurred during a typically raucous show from the Watford punk-rockers.

Prior to the gig, Carter had told NME.COM he expected the show to be 'mental', as the venue was at maximum capacity and the band had asked not to have a barrier between the audience and the stage to improve the atmosphere.

Following a set from support acts Lethal Bizzle and Black Hole, featuring Frank Carter’s brother Rich, Gallows took the stage and prompted fan hysteria to break out.

Fans piled on to the stage one by one, stagediving and sharing the microphone with Carter. Shortly into the set, Carter and one fan play-wrestled and sang together, but both tumbled over in the commotion.

Carter’s forehead smashed against the floor, and he started bleeding from the wound.

However, he continued singing. When the song was over, he declared: “I’m off to A&E now”, before leaving the stage and heading to hospital to receive stitches.

Frank Carter’s brother, Black Hole's Rich Carter, then stepped on stage and sang 'In The Belly Of A Shark' and 'Casanova', before the band declared they couldn’t continue and left the stage.

Frank Carter is expected to make a full recovery and the UK tour is currently scheduled to continue as normal.
