Gallows' Frank Carter is clearly pleased to have topped the NME Cool List 2007, because he’s already planning for next year's list.
The singer is Number One in our annual list, beating the likes of Alex Turner, Kate Nash, Beth Ditto and Ryan Jarman.
"I’ve gotta get a 'Fuck The NME' tattoo,” he declared. “I did say if they put me Number One I’d get it done, because they’d probably think that was cool and that would cement my place for next year."
He also told Xfm that he wasn't sure why he'd topped the list.
"I have no idea, I seriously don’t know. We’re a fucking hardcore punk band but, underneath all the shit, we’re still the same dudes that we’ve always been,” he said. ”I sit at home, I drink tea, go on tour and hang out with my girlfriend and my boys."
Instead, he suggested that his mother should be this year’s Number One.
"It's gotta be my mum,” he suggested. “I don’t really buy into all that celebrity shit and my mum's a fucking cool lady, she’s really understanding."
