Former Gallows singer Frank Carter played his debut gig with his new band Pure Love in London last night (February 14).

The frontman declared that the gig was the start of a "new era" for him after taking to the stage at Bush Hall, where they played a 12-song set.

It was the first chance for fans to hear any of the material from the band, who have kept their songs under wraps since forming last year.

While many of the songs had a notably more melodic sound than Gallows, tunes such as 'Riot' proved Carter has not left punk behind completely.

"Guess what? I learned how to sing, didn't I," he told the crowd at one point, underlining the shift in direction, before 'The Handsome Devils Club' sparked a large circle pit among the crowd.

Pure Love played:

'She'
'Hits'
'Bury My Bones'
'Anthem'
'Beach Of Diamonds'
'Heavy Kind Of Chain'
'Riot'
'Burning Love'
'Scared To Death'
'The Handsome Devils Club'
'Pilgrims'
