'SEX' TALK Garbage Tickets

The band get political...

'SEX' TALK

GARBAGE release a new single next month.

Following on from the Top Ten comeback success of ‘Why Do You Love Me?’, the band release ‘Sex Is Not The Enemy’ on June 13 through Warners.

Explaining the subject matter behind the song, Shirley Manson said: “This is a party song on the surface, but it’s actually dealing with my amazement at how the Bush administration in America is really reactionary and clamping down on gay rights and women’s reproductive rights and civil liberties in general.

“I thought it was really weird that when Janet Jackson revealed her tit at the Super Bowl it was on the cover of USA Today for three days in a row and, meanwhile, there was no mention of the Iraq war. It was only focussing on [a][/a]’s beautiful tit, which I thought was bizarre.”

Garbage play a sold out show at London Brixton Academy on June 9, and also play the Glastonbury Festival over the weekend of June 24-26.
