Wally Ingram’s friends aid him in cancer battle

Garbage, (featuring Pixies members Joey Santiago and David Lovering), Bonnie Raitt and Keb’ Mo’ are among the artists who will join together in a benefit concert in aid of drummer Wally Ingram.

‘Beat It Wally’ takes place on January 31 at Los Angeles’ Alex Theatre, and the proceeds will go to aid Ingram in his fight against throat cancer. The benefit will also feature Victoria Williams and Freedy Johnston among others.

A few “surprise guests” are also slated for the bill, and may include some of the renowned artists the Los Angeles-based percussionist has played with, such as Jackson Browne and Sheryl Crow.

Tickets for the benefit show can be purchased at the Alex Theatre website Alextheatre.org.
