Gary Glitter formally charged

The singer faces prison

Gary Glitter formally charged

Gary Glitter has been formally charged with committing obscene acts with two girls in Vietnam, according to a prosecutor.

The singer – real name Paul Gadd – has been held since November.

The prosecutor, from the southern province Ba Ria Vung Tau – where Glitter lives – has said that the charges carry prison terms of three to seven years.

According to BBC News, the obscene acts were allegedly committed against two girls, aged 12 and 13, at the singer’s home and he is alleged to have kissed and fondled the girls and engaged in other physical acts.

Prosecutors will hand the case to the provincial court next week, who will then decide within the month whether Glitter will face trial.
