The abuse trial of Gary Glitter began today (March 2), with the 70s singer denying he committed obscene acts with two girls.
Prosecutors contend that Glitter molested two girls aged 11 and 12 at his home in Vietnam.
"He denies all charges," his lawyer Le Thanh Kinh said. Glitter claims he was teaching the girls English.
As Glitter was escorted out of the court for a lunch break, reporters asked him if the girls were lying and whether he had pleaded innocent. He nodded in response to both questions, according to BBC News .
As previously reported , Glitter was taken into police custody in November and spent Christmas in jail.
If found guilty, Glitter - real name Paul Gadd - faces seven years in prison. A verdict is expected to be reached on March 3.
