Gary Glitter 'heart attack' claims

Newly-released former rocker refuses to board flight to UK

Shamed former glam-rocker Gary Glitter has claimed that he has suffered a heart attack, refusing to board a flight to the UK after being released from prison in Vietnam.

Glitter - real name Paul Gadd - had been deported from the country after serving three years in jail for molesting two underage girls.

BBC News reports that after travelling to Bangkok in Thailand, where he had been set to board another flight to the UK, Glitter refused to leave the airport.

Glitter claimed he had suffered a heart attack and asked to be allowed to enter Thailand outside the airport, but Thai officials refused. A British policeman accompanying him attempted to convince him to fly to the UK.

Gliter is now believed to be in a hotel room in Bangkok airport.
