Gemma Arterton to star in Robert Capa biopic

Michael Mann will direct the story of the war photographers life

Actress Gemma Arterton has announced she will star in director Michael Mann‘s forthcoming biopic of war photographer Robert Capa.

Mann‘s film will concentrate on Capa‘s two-year romance with fellow photographer Gerda Taro during the Spanish civil war
– the role Arterton will play.

The actress told Total Film: “This year’s been intense, but next year’s going to be… intenser! [Laughs] I’m attached to about nine projects but I’m not sure which ones I’m allowed to talk about.”

This year the English actress appeared in the likes of Clash of the Titans, Prince of Persia: The Sands of Time, The Disappearance of Alice Creed, yet says she’s “aiming for more diversity” from 2011.

On the subject of the Capa biopic, Arterton went on to say: “I should be working with your hottest actor, Andy Garfield!”

However, it is not yet confirmed that new Spider-Man star Garfield is on board to play Capa.
