Beatles guitar to go under the hammer
George Harrison
With a host of other star studded items
legend George Harrison's guitar is to go under the hammer for a special auction.
The Maton MS-500 Mastersound, which was played by the late Beatle at the height of Beatlemania in 1963, is expected to fetch £100,000 at the Cooper Owen's Music Legends sale on November 30.
The event is being held to mark the fifth anniversary of Harrison's death. The legendary guitarist passed away after a battle with cancer on November 29, 2001.
Other items set go to under the hammer at London's Air Studios include a shirt and jacket worn by fellow Beatle John Lennon and a Sex Pistols poster advertising their iconic 1976 gig in Manchester.
