GEORGE GOES FOR OLYMPIC GOLD

Let's hope it's not as controversial as his current single...

Under-fire superstar George Michael is considering a request from the ATHENS OLYMPIC COMMITTEE to write a theme tune to the 2004 Games.

Michael, though born in London, is of Greek heritage. His real name is Georgios Kyriacos Panayiotou. It is unclear when he will come to a decision about the track.

A spokesperson for the singer confirmed today that: "A request was made by the Athens Olympic Committee to write the theme song for the 2004 games."

George Michael
his kicked up a storm of controversy with new single 'Shoot The Dog', an attack on Tony Blair's relationship with US president George Bush. He has been forced to defend himself repeatedly over claims that the song is anti-American.
