Singer is accused of being 'unfit to drive'

George Michael is set to face driving charges in court today (January 10).

The singer will face charges of being unfit to drive, following an incident on September 30 where he was allegedly found passed out in a car.

As previously reported, worried motorists called the police to report the fact Michael’s Mercedes was causing an obstruction at traffic lights in Cricklewood, north London.

The star was arrested on suspicion of being unfit to drive and for possession of what was believed to be cannabis. He was later taken to hospital after receiving a caution from police.

Michael was charged with being unfit to drive just before Christmas.

A spokesman for the Courts Service told Yahoo it was “highly unlikely” that the singer would attend the hearing in person.
