George Michael has defended his cannabis use.
The singer, who is facing a court appearance in June to be sentenced after pleading guilty to driving while unfit through drugs, said he was not “advocating” for everyone but saw the substance's benefits.
"Nobody ever came home stoned and beat up their wife," he told Michael Parkinson on ITV.
He added that he felt he did not do anything wrong after he was found slumped over the wheel of his car in a London street earlier this year.
"Ultimately I didn't break the law,” he claimed. “I did something stupid, and doing something irresponsible is not a position that I am normally used to defending myself in."
In the same interview declared that his shows at the rebuilt Wembley Stadium on June 9 and 10 – the first music events there – was "like my dream come true".
