A reissue of George Michael's 1987 debut solo album 'Faith' has been pushed back following the singer's recent jail sentence.

The former Wham! frontman's first solo record was due to be released through Sony Music next Monday (September 27) in a number of digital versions as well as three physical formats, including a limited-edition boxed set.

But the record company has delayed its release following Michael's eight-week conviction for crashing his Range Rover into a Snappy Snaps shop in Hampstead, London under the influence of drugs, reports Music Week.

The singer is no longer under contract with Sony Music.

The original version of the 1987 album has sold over 20 million copies worldwide and topped the UK and US charts when it was first released.

It is likely to be released in 2011 following the delay.
