George Michael has cancelled two more gigs on his current UK tour after being struck down with pneumonia.

The singer was due to play at Cardiff's Motorpoint Arena on Saturday and Sunday (November 26 and 27) as part of his Symphonica jaunt, but the gigs have been shelved after he was rushed to hospital with the illness.

Michael's publicist Connie Filippello confirmed that he had been "diagnosed with pneumonia and he is currently receiving treatment". He is reportedly being treated in Vienna's AKH hospital.

Michael also pulled a concert at London's Royal Albert Hall, which was due to take place last night (24). The show has been rescheduled for May 2012, while a statement on his website confirmed that there are also plans to rearrange the nixed Cardiff gigs.

It's the second time in a month he has shelved dates due to illness - another Royal Albert Hall gig in October was pulled after he was diagnosed with a viral infection and high temperature.

The tour, which sees Michael perform with a large orchestra, is due to resume at Liverpool's Echo Arena next Wednesday (30).
