Girls have paid tribute to Whitney Houston by performing a cover of 'I Will Always Love You' – scroll down to the bottom of the page and click to watch.

According to Pitchfork, the San Francisco duo showcased their rendition of the track at Singapore's Laneway Festival after Houston passed away on Saturday morning (February 11) aged 48 at the Beverly Hills Hiton Hotel. 'I Will Always Love You' was originally written by country singer Dolly Parton in 1974, but later became closely associated with Houston after she recorded the song for the soundtrack of her film The Bodyguard in 1992.

Reports earlier this morning (February 13) suggested that her death was allegedly caused by an overdose of prescription drugs. Rumours had originally circulated that the singer had drowned after her body was found in a bathtub, but family sources' have said that Houston died as a result of an overdose of Xanax and other prescription drugs mixed with alcohol.

Girls are set to play their biggest UK headline show to date at the London HMV Forum on May 28. The duo, who are comprised of frontman Christopher Owens and bass player Chet 'JR' White, will also play a leg of European dates including three shows in France, and have also been confirmed for this year's Primavera Sound festival in Spain.

Girls will play:

London HMV Forum (May 28)
Lille Le Grand Mix (29)
Paris Cite De La Musique Festival (30)
Marseille Cabaret Aletoire (31)
