Girls Aloud’s Sarah Harding ‘just’ missed out ‘X-Men: First Class’ role

Singer beaten to the part by 'Mad Men' actress

Girls Aloud singer Sarah Harding said she nearly landed the role of Emma Frost in the forthcoming movie X-Men: First Class, having been called back three times to audition.

Harding, who has had parts in the recent St Trinians movies, eventually lost out to Mad Men actress January Jones.

The singer told OK! Magazine: “I got called back three times for X-Men but I missed out on the part to January Jones which was fine, she’s a more established actress, but I was pleased to have got that far down the line.”

Harding also said she is not short of movie offers, but is waiting for the right part.

“I’m getting quite a few offers but I’m being quite picky,” she added. “I thought Uma Thurman was great in Kill Bill, I’d love a kick ass role!”

January Jones will join Nicholas Hoult, James McAvoy, Jennifer Lawrence, Michael Fassbender and Kevin Bacon in X-Men: First Class, which is set for release in summer 2011.
