Female acts dominate the UK single and album charts today as Girls Aloud go to straight to Number One in the album countdown and a flurry of divas take over the upper reaches of the single chart.
Girls Aloud see their album 'Out Of Control' flick Pink's 'Funhouse' to Number Two, while Razorlight chart at Four with new release 'Slipway Fires'.
On the singles chart, the 'X Factor' charity track 'Hero' stays at Number One for a second week, shifting 189,600 copies, taking its total sold to date to 502,844. All proceeds go towards Help For Heroes, a charity for British servicemen and women wounded in Britain's current conflicts, and the Royal British Legion Poppy Appeal. Remembrance Sunday was marked today.
It's beneath 'X Factor' that the real action is happening. Beyonce blusters in at Two with 'If I Were A Boy', two ahead of Britney Spears, who enters at four with 'Womanizer', and ahead of Leona Lewis, who enters at Five with 'Forgive Me'. Katy Perry sits at Seven with 'Hot 'N' Cold', Alesha Dixon is at Eight with 'The Boy Does Nothing' and Pink is at 10.
Christina Aguilera, the other major pop diva to release a single last week, saw her song 'Keeps Gettin' Better' enter at Number 14.
Kings Of Leon have now two tracks in the Top 30 with 'Use Somebody' at 25, while former chart topper 'Sex On Fire' sits at 11.
