Girls Aloud deny split rumours

Group assures fans there will be a new album

Girls Aloud have reassured fans they will not be splitting any time soon.

The group's future has been in doubt after Cheryl Cole made the announcement she was working on solo material, in addition to her other job as a judge on reality TV show 'The X Factor'.

Also this week Sarah Harding added fuel to the recent rumours by telling Heat magazine she wanted a break, as well as appearing in the BBC drama 'Freefall'.

Writing on their official website Girlsaloud.co.uk, the five-piece rubbished the recent rumours and assured Girls Aloud will continue and co-exist with solo projects.

The message read: "We've decided to write this note together, because we want to set the record straight about what is happening in our world. Over the next 12 months we are going to be involved in a lot of different things - music, TV, fashion and more. Sometimes it may be a solo project - sometimes just a couple of us and sometimes all five of us together."

The message continued with a promise of a new album.

It stated: "We are definitely NOT splitting up. In fact we have all signed a new contract with Fascination/Polydor Records guaranteeing that we will release at least three Girls Aloud albums - minimum.

"We will definitely all be going into the studio next year to record - and there will definitely be a new GA album in 2010."

girls aloud will earn a huge amount of respect by breaking up now. the saturdays deserve to replace them cos they actually write alot of their stuff and you can tell because they are more one with the stuff they write. plus girls aloud make one good song an album

JMBrilley, i agree, although it might not seem like a cool thing to say, when you look at the 'pop scene', girls aloud are looking stale, the saturdays are fresh and they do write their own music, they may be pop, but for that reason i think they deserve a bit of respect. One of their members plays the guitar, and when i saw them live at wolves civic, it the band with them meant at times it was almost like watching your average gig, not something overblown like girls aloud. Long live the saturdays!

So they write their own stuff, and one of them can play the guitar (not very well, by the way) ? Who cares? When they produce a song even 10% as good as Biology, Swinging London Town, It's Magic or Wild Horses, come back and comment
