Kimberley Walsh says Noel Gallagher told her she is his favourite member of Girls Aloud.

Walsh, who is in the hugely successful pop act alongside Cheryl Cole, Sarah Harding, Nicola Roberts and Nadine Coyle, revealed the news in The Sun, saying Noel had approached Girls Aloud to perform at the Royal Albert Hall for his upcoming series of gigs for Teenage Cancer Trust.

Speaking about the offer, which Girls Aloud were unable to take up due to touring commitments, Kimberley said: "Yeah, he called me up out of the blue. It’s great that he’s involved and is arranging it. It was exciting to speak to him. I was like, 'Really?' He said I was his favourite (Girls Aloud member) and Sarah wasn’t very happy about that."

The 'Something New' group are set to pocket £1 million each from their forthcoming farewell tour, which kicks off in Newcastle on February 21.

Girls Aloud will play:

Newcastle Metro Radio Arena (February 21, 22)
Sheffield Motorpoint Arena (25)
Birmingham LG Arena (26)
London O2 Arena (March 1, 2)
Manchester Manchester Arena (5, 6)
Glasgow SECC (9, 10)
Nottingham Capital FM Arena (19)
Liverpool Echo Arena (20)
