Girls' Christopher Owens has said that his band's next full album is not far away, despite mini-album 'Broken Dreams Club' being set for release on Monday (November 22).

The singer/guitarist told NME that the band were turning down gig opportunities so they could get in the studio to lay down the album quickly.

"We're going to be recording the next album as soon as possible," he said. "The 'Broken Dreams Club' record is sort of a bonus album. We just wanted to put it out quickly and move straight into recording the next album."

Owens said that he was making halting touring in favour of studio sessions something of a new year's resolution. "The [live] shows in Australia are in December and after that we've got Christmas," he said. "We decided it would be good to start the new year with a record and not a new tour."

'Heartbreaker', a song from 'Broken Dreams Club', is available as a free download now.
