Eddie Argos releases festival credit crunch battling track

Art Brut frontman Eddie Argos's new band Glam Chops are giving away their Christmas single for free.

The group, which also features singer The Vessel from David Devant And His Spirit Wife in the line-up, were aiming for the Christmas Number One with the tracks boasting sleighbells, bagpipes and even a childrens' choir.

However after considering the state of the economy and reports of a looming recession, Agros' and co have decided to turn their record into a gift.

"Glam Rock first time around happened during a recession and was all about feeling good and getting away from it all," they explained.

"There’s definitely a Glam Rock revival on the cards and Great Britain needs it more than ever. The tracks are so good and we probably would have scored a minor hit with the single, but Glam Chops wanted to react to the current situation of everyone being too broke to afford anything but food and drink, and they begged me to release the single for free."

The double A-side, 'Countdown To Christmas'/'Baby Jesus Was The First Glam Rocker', will be available to download for free from December 1 from the band's MySpace page.
