Glastonbury founder to get a masters degree
More academic plaudits for Michael Eavis
Glastonbury founder Michael Eavis is to be made a Master
of Arts by the University of Bristol .
Eavis first began holding the festival from his home at Glastonbury in 1970. It attracted 15,000 people.
It is now the largest greenfield music and performing arts festival in the world, attracting 150,000 people - although the event is taking a break this year and will not return until 2007.
This not Eavis' first academic honour, the festival chief was made a doctor of the arts by Bath University in December 2004.
