Glastonbury supremo promises 'greatest show on Earth' in 2007

Next year's festival will be 'bigger' and 'better'

Glastonbury supremo promises 'greatest show on Earth' in 2007
Glastonbury supremo Michael Eavis has revealed that the 2007 festival will be the biggest and best ever.

Eavis told NME’s sister title Uncut that he’s adding more space to the site – and also promises a titanic bill when the event returns in June 2007 after a two-year break.

He said: “What I can announce now is that I’m adding an extra 100 acres next year so it will be the biggest festival ever.

“I’m renting the additional land from a neighbour so there’s more space and major improvements to the campsite. So it’s not just going to be bigger, but better.

“We’re going to be presenting the best line-up anywhere in the world. Glastonbury 2007, will be, literally, the greatest show on Earth."

NME recently predicted the headliners would be The Killers, Bruce Springsteen and Kylie Minogue.

Despite initial denials regarding this, he said: “All I can tell you at this stage is whatever rumours you’ve heard…they’re probably all true.”

Also in this month’s Uncut there’s a look back at the legend of Nirvana’s Kurt Cobain and the untold story of grunge, an in-depth interview with Kasabian and an audience with Manic Street Preachers' Nicky Wire. It’s on sale in all good newsagents now, priced £4.20
