Festival has two talent contests this year

Do you want to play Glastonbury?

Music charity Youth Music are launching a competition for budding musicians to get a chance to play Glastonbury 2007.

Opened to artists aged between 14-18, they can win a chance to perform on the Leftfield Stage.

To enter, bands must compose their own modern protest song.

The winners will also get mentoring from musicians and influential figures in the music industry over the weekend including Get Cape. Wear Cape. Fly and Billy Bragg.

Meanwhile, the festival's established new band's contest is moving to the shortlist stages.

With entries now closed, live heats are expected to take place soon to find a host of new bands to play across the festival's stages.

Previous winners include The Subways.

Glastonbury 2007 will take place between June 22-24 at Worthy Farm in Pilton. Tickets are set to go on sale on April 1.
