The first festival goers are arriving at Worthy Farm this morning (June 20) for this year’s Glastonbury.
Although the music does not kick off until early tomorrow afternoon with the Leftfield Stage opening earlier – with the rest of the stages not due to start until Friday (22) – fans have been allowed to head to the site and pitch their tents from 8am this morning.
However while punters will have to wait for the bands, areas like the Green Fields and the markets will already be up and running.
Organisers are stressing that when fans arrive on the site not to do anything with their tickets until they reach the main gates.
“When entering car parking areas please show your ticket when requested, but do not give your ticket to anyone until you go through the turnstiles. Anyone asking to take your ticket before that is not legit!” the official website explains.
It adds that with this year’s anti-touting measures festival goers will have to keep their personalised tickets all weekend.
“This year you will be given back your ticket, which will have your photograph on it, and which you will need to re-enter if you leave the site or go to the car parks,” says the site. “Security staff may ask to see your ticket during the event - so keep it secure!”
