Glastonbury 2007 is go!

Norwegian Adjagas open play as heavens open up

Glastonbury 2007 is go!

Norwegian six-piece Adjagas kicked off Glastonbury 2007 this morning (June 22) with a rain-drenched performance on the Pyramid Stage.

A small crowd gathered for the band who finally got the chance to open the three-day bash after their set was cancelled two years ago following flooding, which caused technical problems.

Singer Lawra Somby opened the set with a manic yodelling intro which drew huge cheers from the crowd.

In reference to the wet conditions he asked the crowd, "How you doing in the rain out there? I hope you're managing."

Over on the jazz stage The Magic Numbers percussionist Angela Gannon teamed up with The Tor Dogs to perform a cover of Dolly Parton's '9 To 5'.

Further performances on the Pyramid Stage today will come from The View, Amy Winehouse and Arctic Monkeys.
