Good Shoes get Glastonbury singing

The Mordern band get the crowd going on John Peel Stage

South Londoners Good Shoes played a busy set on the John Peel Stage at Glastonbury this afternoon (June 22).

The show was the band's first visit to the festival something singer Rhys Jones shared with the crowd after opener 'Nazanin'.

"This our first time at Glastonbury, anyone else a virgin?" he asked before quickly quantifying himself. "A festival virgin I mean."

The band then played several brisk songs before they were briefly stopped in their tracks due to a spot of technical difficulties.

Keeping the crowd onside, the singer spent the time pointing out who watching them from the wings and singling out singer Kate Nash.

Resuming the set with 'Ice Age', the band barely stopped for breath playing the likes of 'Blues Eyes' before getting the crowd to loudly sing-a-long the "I do" part from 'Never Meant To Hurt You'.

As if to underline the changeable conditions today, the set which started with rain pouring around the outside of the tent ended with sunshine streaming in.

Seemingly inspired by the brief change in weather, the band dedicated single 'Mordern' to the "person with that flag" - an Irish tricolor with "Morden" scrawled across it – along with “anyone else” from their home town.

With the crowd loudly clapping along to the song's percussion parts, it set up a big climax with the audience also shouting along to 'We Are Not The Same' and closer 'All In My Head'.
