Michael Eavis lashes out at new ticket tout report

Glastonbury Festival organiser Michael Eavis has slammed a new select committee report on ticket touts, which calls for touts to be legitimised.

MPs on the Department For Culture Media And Sport Select Committee had looked into touting but concluded it had benefits for consumers and should be cleaned up and legitimised.

However Eavis rejected their findings and called on the UK government to take action.

“Nobody likes touts,” he told Sky News. “I don't see why they [the Government] can't push through a simple law to do something about it. I hate it.”

Eavis said unless he had introduced his own anti-touting measures, including printing punters photos on tickets, Glastonbury would have finished.

"It just took a bit of lateral thinking to come up with this idea," he said. "People don't mind and it costs very little."
