Organisers planning changes ahead of 2008 event

Favourite Glastonbury stage to get facelift

One of Glastonbury’s favourite stages is set to get a facelift for this year’s festival.

The John Peel Stage, named in honour of the late DJ, will be revamped ahead of the event, which takes place between June 27 and 29.

Speaking to NME.COM, Martin Elbourne, who books bands for Glastonbury, explained the change.

"We're doubling the size of the John Peel Stage,” he explained. “It’s going to be a much bigger, better tent, hopefully with a screen outside it.”

As announced early this year, the festival will be headlined by Kings Of Leon, Jay-Z and The Verve.

To be able to buy a ticket when they go on sale on April 6, fans must register with the festival’s anti touting measures. Check out NME.COM's handy guide to Glastonbury Festival ticket registration now.
