Countdown to Glastonbury ticket sales begins

Festival's lines open on April 6 - are you ready?

The countdown to Glastonbury tickets has begun, with just five days to go before the lines open on Sunday (April 6).

Tickets go on sale at 9am, and cost £155 each plus a £5 booking fee, and £4 postage and packaging per order.

Although registrations for the festival's anti-touting measures were down on last year, organisers are still expecting an incredibly large demand for Glastonbury tickets and NME.COM is here to help you.

In the build-up to Sunday we have a handy guide containing everything you need to buy Glastonbury tickets on Sunday which you can bookmark or print out now.

Plus, using NME's contacts and connections with the bands and the live music industry, we have a
definitive list of the bands we know are playing Glastonbury Festival so far.

Glastonbury takes place between June 27-29 at Worthy Farm in Pilton, Somerset.

Registrations are down quite simply because the headline line-up is poor, the conditions on-site, if the weather isn't good, are abysmal and the prices of food/drink on-site are excessive. Overall a poor return for spending at least 400 quid on the weekend for a ticket, transport etc. Glastonbury will decline in popularity until these issues are resolved in the future.

I Agree, this is the worst lineup for a long time, just have a look at the V-Festival, what a line-up.

Well lets hope johntr and liveforever84 are reflective of the majority then as it will make my ticket buying experience a quicker and esaier one come sunday morning. If you dont like the line-up then dont go - Simple as. You stick to your corproate nonsense V Festival and leave the real thing to the real festival goers.

no gazmassie, they're right the line is sooooo shit. i'm not just angry cos of jay-z is headlinin, cos he's good but he's not "festival" good. you're blatantly just angry cos you missed out tickets for reading/ t in the park/ v fest etc. and glasto is jus a compromise. kings of leon are way too good for that shitty bill. reading all the way !

Glastonbury is becoming more corporate every year and the simple fact is that it used to have the very best line up but this year simply doesn't cut it. I am not even considering applying this year. Eavis trying to appeal to the kids has backfired.

It does nt matter if V is corporate.... if the facilities are better than Glasto, and it cant be hard, then Glasto needs to pull its finger out!I have noticed in the last 3 times I have been to Glasto is that the prices have gone up, numbers have gone up but not much has improved. If it rains then the weekend is a washout, and it does nt matter how much has been sent on drainage, last yr was nasty. I am going to Exit this yr, so I can watch some good bands in the Sun

Well let's see.. Reading & Leeds has better headliners. Reading & Leeds has better weather. Reading & Leeds doesn't take place when it's target audience has some of their most important exams. Maybe that's why registration is down..

liveforever84 you've made possibly the worst comparison with another festival - V has Muse this year and....................erm well last time I saw muse it didnt cost me £140+. Glasto will literally s**t all over the V festival lineup with a ridiculously diverse lineup and huge number of stages it will be impossible to be bored. Come on if you were going to compare why did you choose the major festival with the worst lineup by far?? You could have said Leeds & Reading maybe as the lineup is awesome this year just looking at the first few announcements. I'm glad I've got my L&R ticket and Glastonbury too already enjoy V!!!

Festivals rely on a good mix of music and atmosphere which is why Reading and Leeds will be the best again this year.

Screw all of those 'festivals'. Get down to Hop Farm with Neil Young.

numberonestrokes fan - Anyone who has a phone and/or computer can get a ticket for t in the park / Reading / V etc, you cant possible miss out on tickets for them if you are around when they go on sale. Glastonbury however creates the biggest buzz and biggest ticket rush and there will be people who genuinely try all morning and end up ticketless. Having been to Reading, Glastonbury and T in the Park in recent years i can honestly say that Glastonbury is a totally different animal. I love Reading Festival and will no doubt go this year, but Glastonbury is just bigger and better than anything else out there - And i wouldnt even entertain the idea of going to V - I have no inclination to go to a festival that contains Girls Aloud, Kylie etc etc
