Poor line up! Glastonbury needs to have a big re-think !! They are scarping the barrel now! White Stripes & Coldplay are the last deserving headling acts and thats 3 years ago !! Micheal and Emily SORT IT OUT.

emo_lol

Apr 28, 2008

Even ignoring the whole "Jay-Z" bollocks, that is a terrible, terrible line-up. Thank God for this years Reading line-up!

MC619

Apr 28, 2008

Ok, everyone will criticise it but not too bad 10 very good bands atleast there, and thats without park stage, dance tent and MANY others, plus alot TBC, i mean only 5 confirmed for pyramid sunday so far!!Even still far too much topshop rock on there :/..and finally the fratellis second!

mattd190

Apr 28, 2008

how come newton faulkner isnt on the main stage he should be as all the other band s are shit as well

Apr 28, 2008

I live in Dublin, Ireland and have always wanted to go to Glastonbury but due to commitments didn't register this year. Thank fuck I didn't either cos the lineup is attrocious. Then again I am going to Oxegen and the lineup for that is quite shite too! The thing that I find a load of bollox is the fact the tickets go on sale BEFORE the acts are announced. Load of me ring piece if you ask me.

Alexhorton1991

Apr 28, 2008

Finally the lineup... no pete doherty though even though emily eavis said he was playing as his "comeback gig". although he could be playing the acoustic tent.Libs Forever!

Jamie_Fullerton

Apr 28, 2008

Hi Alex, Pete's set to play the Park Stage - this is the three main stage line-ups so far, so he's stull scheduled to play.Jamie NME.

What a joke - thank God i got a free ticket this year. Glastonbury is definitely going to be a warm up for a proper festival, Werchter this year. This line up is something i'd expect to see at V - pop shite. Where's the rumoured Sex Pistols headliner? The Raconteurs should've been on before Kings of Leon on Friday night - the best slot on the bill....

shockin line up

gazmassie

Apr 28, 2008

Not entirely excited about the line-up. Good to see some awesome bands playing on the others stages, i.e Vampire Weekend, MGMT, Black Kids, Neon Neon. But the acts on the Pyramid stage dont really cut it for me - Im all in Favour of The Verve and KOL and im not even too fussed about Jay-Z but having the second to last acts confirmed as Leonard Cohen and the F@#king Fratellis is a joke. Thank God Glasvegas are kicking the whole thing off.

Apr 28, 2008

better than reading/leeds. quite a bad year across the board. but i think this is the best line up plus glastonbury is more than just music its the experience... i can't wait. still got all the dance acts and park stage tba!!

Matt Paradise

Apr 28, 2008

Boy am I glad I didn't bother buying a ticket- that's pretty awful, so bland.

Apr 28, 2008

Jay-ZVery Special Guest TBC ... does that mean linkin park? oooh please let the rumours be true!

jordiep07

Apr 28, 2008

i dont see why people always have to find a reason to slate glastonbury just because its the most famous festival around, ok the line ups seen better years, but hey its still a good line up. stop your bleating everyone and if you dont like the line up and you are not going why even put your opinion in about it cos nobody cares! :)

domthemod

Apr 28, 2008

ok there are some god awful bands on there (the feeling, the hoosiers etc) but the majority of it is pretty good... it just doesn't have anything that leaps out at you as being amazing

alex_hoban

Apr 28, 2008

hold on there folks... if this line-up isn't for you it's not such a bad thing.. it just means you'll have more time to paint yourself blue and wonder round the Lost Vagueness fields befriending hippies and elfin folk... that's a REAL glastonbury experience, surely?

DVJR0102

Apr 28, 2008

I don't think Glasto should even take place this year, because it just lost its way. There are only about 8 bands I would see, however all 7 of them are at Reading (which I am going to this year, thank god :P). I can't believe it! Has this shit fest sold out yet? It won't surprise me if it isn't.

mr_gamgee

Apr 28, 2008

I have a few things to say to those who are dissing Glasto because of the line up...1) How fickle are you if you're letting a single act put you off going to an amazing festival that doesn't need one single headliner to be worth going to?2) Jay Z blatantly isn't doing it for the money and I've got massive respect for that.3) Poor line up? You obviously haven't got a clue. At the cost of 'amazing headliners' you now have a fantastic amount of even more brilliant smaller bands, I'm going to be stupidly spoiled for choice.5) This list is the tip of the iceberg... for those who aren't fickle I hope I shouldn't have to mention Flash Wilson...4) Thanks for your opinion now swan off to Reading or wherever it is you prefer to go and leave more space for us who want to go to a REAL festival.

craighoffman

Apr 28, 2008

felt a bit insulted last year when told glastonbury wanted to attract a younger crowd than my age bracket (late 30's) . i'm a big fan of the cribs, jamie t, raconteurs, mgmt etc... and i in no way,not even ironically ,want to see some of the act brought in to attract the teenage crowd such as gilbert o'sullivan, james blunt or shakin' stevens. this youthful line-up should have been announced april 1st

craighoffman

Apr 28, 2008

to alex_hobans comment above, nice idea but lost vagueness jumped ship at the beginning of the year.they must have saw what was happening to the festival. it'll still be a good festival(weather permiting)but not on the evidence of the main stage but the smaller tents.

ltu04kpw

Apr 28, 2008

looks like you'll have plenty of space mate...

Ricardonal

Apr 28, 2008

This lineup is shocking. Last year glasto had the likes of The Killers, Arctic Monkeys, Kasabian, Kaiser Chiefs, Arcade Fire to name a few. There are a few good bands here, but for the me best lineup this summer has to be Reading. Glad im going there instead

Skanny999

Apr 28, 2008

It seem to be listening to football supporters here: Glasto sucks, c'mon Reading, my players are better then yours, your team is shite. I've been to Glastonbury once in 2000 and the last thing I remember are the bands that played there... and I love music, but all the rest was soooo overwhelming that the headliners came in 3rd - 4th place compared with everything else that was going on...It was beautyful and sunny, and that helped a lot, so the only thing I hope for isn't Linking Park, Arctic Monkeys or JCSuperstar in person to play, but the weather to be decent and everything will shine with a different light. Enjoy whichever festival you end up going, I'll enjoy there!

mickeyhynes

Apr 28, 2008

Slightly disappointed, although should have plenty of time to go off on one in the Green Fields(!). This doesn't include the Park Stage, the Acoustic Tent, or the Dance Village (East and West tents). Glastonbury is the only complete festival, all the others are just big gigs in fields, plus arson if you're at Reading, lol.

howarj

Apr 28, 2008

The only bands I'd be interested in seeing there are Massive Attack and The Verve. But then for someone else that could be a really good line up this year. I think they're struggling a bit now to get the top bods.As for the very special guest...anyone know? Maybe Snoop Dog as he's now allowed in the Country?

points75

Apr 28, 2008

This is a weak line-up, but the music industry is reaping what they've sowed.Music is in a poor state. And NME is partly to blame. Jumping on a bandwagon, and then destroying a band's reputation a month later, is not journalism. It's lazy, and it's insulting.Promoting bands like The Cribs, The Hoosiers, The Fratelli's etc has led to a line-up like Glasto's.Music has to be better than the glorified pub rock that is being peddled right now. There are few great bands emerging. Where is the new Suede? The new Oasis? The new Smiths? The new New Order? Etc. It's not happening. Maybe we're all to blame. I don't know, but until someone takes the bull by the horns, we should all get used to weak line-ups like this one.

rick 13

Apr 28, 2008

KOL, the enemy, raconteurs, massive attack, verve and the zutons are the only 1s i would go to see. there all good bands but If primal scream, kasabin, oasis, ian brown, chemical brothers, the prodigy and some 1 like the foo's or the chillie peppers it would be a lot better i think

woodytom

Apr 28, 2008

I counted like 20 good bands, which isn't bad, I wouldn't mind going, although I don't have the funds. Also Jay Z headlining isn't a big deal really, its not like you have to sit there watching, lets all go see Massive Attack!

wilsonio

Apr 28, 2008

Some people need to get a grip because none of the festivals are that great! The fact is... there just isn't enough decent bands in the world at the moment!Leeds/Reading is on a par with Glasto... the type of bands you'd expect to be playing are playing... simple as.

tucks112

Apr 28, 2008

has to be said i know glastonbury isn't about the lineup etc... but that is an absolutely appalling lineup. weak!

karaoke_soul

Apr 28, 2008

Okay, so clearly not the best line up glastonbury has ever had. Just means more time to enjoy the thousand other things glastonbury has to offer, while off your head!! Can't wait

mAttthhheaLy

Apr 28, 2008

dammit... wish I'd had enough money for tickets now...the line up seems so varied & exciting...I suppose I'll watch it on BBC like last year...

Hatts

Apr 28, 2008

Well, we can't befriend hippies in Lost Vagueness anymore can we? Which I'm quite sad about, as I only found it on the Sunday afternoon last year. But have you not read the whole "over 1000 bands in three days" thing. This is only about 80, including the TBCs, and there are a fair few awesome ones here! Plus, as has been said before, it's only the main three, and doesn't include all the awesomeness of the Park Stage (Fionn Regan on Sunday last year anyone?). Plus of course the Glastonbury experience cannot be beaten. Even though Reading etc. had bands I wanted to see, they didn't interest me at all, as they lack the whole experience of Glasto! But lets just hope like hell that Linkin Park stay the fuck away!

Jake...

Apr 28, 2008

thats a hilariously atrocious line up

acedrums

Apr 28, 2008

I like NME's idea of 'full line up" - quite a few, unamed TBC's...plus the line up is balls. Band Of Horses, The Raconteurs, Kings Of Leon, The National, Biffy Clyro, Black Keys and Seasick Steve are the only ones really worth it. If Reading had Band Of Horses it would be almost perfect. That is where I am heading.

natty123

Apr 28, 2008

I cant believe people are saying there dissapointed with the lineup i think its a great line-up i cant believe John Mayer is playing the Pyramid!!!! People will have a good time no matter what, their is something for everyone! Bring it on i say!!!

gs5ar

Apr 28, 2008

what a shit line-up so disappointed festival will still be good but that is the worst line-up Ive seen at any of the festivals for a long while Shakin Stevens not even fucking funny

gs5ar

Apr 28, 2008

Shakin Stevens is this Glastonbury or Butlins

Vacant0

Apr 28, 2008

Am absolutely gutted that Jay-Z and Massive Attack clash - its not a particularly strong lineup atm but with hundreds of other acts to be announced and a guaranteed amazing atmosphere Glasto will still be unbeatable. All of you that keep slating the festival are idiots really.

riccardoharris82

Apr 28, 2008

I am sooo looking forward to Glasonbury this year for one simple reason - the so called "poor" line up will mean that the people that usually only go because they like the three headliners wont be there, the same people that usually get annoyed at the mud and wished they'd never bothered by Saturday lunchtime. It will instead be full of the best people who know that the offical line up doesn't matter, who always find the best bands on the smaller stages anyway and who are still wanting to party even though it is 5am on Sunday morning, and they have barely slept for 72 hours!! Bring it on.

Eldavide

Apr 28, 2008

In all honesty, its pretty simple, if you don't like it, don't go, i'm generally pretty happy with that, considering its only a small selection of the full lineup there r some good bands. And who cares if leeds have got rage or whoever else, if you wanted to go see them you should've been outside HMV at 6am queing for a ticket or whatever. Honestly some people!

copperstars

Apr 28, 2008

this line-up is literally HILARIOUSLY awful. Seriously. It's all gone down hill since emily eavis got involved. It#s not even about the alternative anymore, its a yuppie festival for all the southern 25-35 year olds that don't really know too much about music but "quite like the radio 1 playlist".Glastonbury needs to take a look at what's going on at coachella and SXSW and take a leaf out of their book.Bring back the alternative!!! dear lord! --- scouting for girls?? the hoosiers?? Shakin Stevens??Newton Faulkner? Panic at the disco? THe worlds worst band in the history of bands ever- THE FEELING!?!?! come on. Seriously.. Its laughable.

jj 99

Apr 28, 2008

Is this a joke? Saturday's Pyramid stage line-up has to be one of the worst single day stage line-ups ever assembled anywhere! They presumably added James Blunt, Manu Chao (Who??) and Shakin' Stevens (You're kiddin' right?) just to make the godawful choice of Jay Z as headliner look inspired! Imagine suffering that lot in monsoon conditions up to your knees in cow-shit and paying hundreds of quid for the privilege of doing so!! Thank Christ I'm not going!

Executioner

Apr 28, 2008

Weakest line up ever I wouldnt go even it was free ,Glastonbury needs to to take a break for a few years and get some better artists Jay z is just a joke he is not a festival act more suited to an arena ,Maybe its a sign of the times maybe there arent enough decent bands anymore, would love to see U2 or Pink Floyd do it maybe if eavis wasnt so bitter towards U2 who turned him down in 2005 and asked them again when they are arent on a mammoth tour,A reformed Stone Roses would also be a dream that would revive british music again providing of course Ian brown sings in tune.

jmcgov1

Apr 28, 2008

This is an outraaage!I keep thinking this is some sort of nightmare and that I will wake up and the real line up will be announced! The organisers have seriously got it wrong this year, when you look at the other line ups for the other festivals it makes you wonder how can Glastonbury line-up be so bad in comparion when it is supposed to be the best festival in th world?!

jaghardy

Apr 28, 2008

To those that like to moan, Glasto is not just about the music...and anyone who goes just to watch the bands would be better off at a "MacFestival"where they can be treated like sheep and then told to go home at midnight.Glastonbury is a feeling,a strange and beautiful town that for a week rises from the mud to delight not only the ears but the mind.

weak as piss!

90jl11

Apr 28, 2008

Lets all calm down people. There are actually loads of great bands here, the only problem is that they are frequently cancelled out by quite a few really shite ones. I mean, how has James Blunt managed to get anywhere near the main stage? However, the Pyramid Stage on the Verve day is pretty average so far and the Jay Z isn't looking too great either. The Other and John Peel Stages are looking quite strong though. Just a shame so many good bands are bound to clash.

lmb92

Apr 28, 2008

probably the worst line for a long time, a lot of the acts are way too corporate-james blunt, newton faulkaner etc, but there's still bands to see on each stage and the park stage will be good. glastonbury's still glastonbury

marksman

Apr 28, 2008

Lets all throw bottles at JayZ... That'll show 'em!

spray86

Apr 28, 2008

Whats disappointing for me this year is I have to watch all these shite bands on tv (from foreign soil) without been able to fast forward the pain (OH THE PAIN!)

spray86

Apr 28, 2008

Althought The Presets have confirmed in the dance village, you should all be looking forwards to that. And Panic I'd love to catch over Kings of leon.

cavalier74

Apr 28, 2008

Glastonbury is not about the line-up it's about the experience. i went for the first time last year and it was the sickest 4 days ever and the music wasn't the most important factor. find new bands find new genres of music that you don't listen to in every day life it will open your eyes. they only really advertise 4/5 of the stages, there are dozens to choose from. in a strange way i think that poor tickets sales will mean Michael Evis will make this year bigger and better than ever. people who say jay-z should be there are idiots i wouldn't say i'm a jay-z fan but i will be watching because it will go down in Glasto history as Evis has already said he will personally make sure it is a massive set that everyone will talk about. so i will be packing my tent off down to somerset and putting on my boots because this year Glastonbury will rock!!

harrietbevan

Apr 28, 2008

Ohhh help. This is freakin dreadful. Bought my ticket in a black cloud moment looking for a silver lining after exams and regretting it terribly. I wasn't expecting much in fairness but this is truly truly embarrassingly bad. I'm not sure I want to be seen at this middle of the road twat fest. Help. Ticket and identity for sale- ha!

chinarecliner

Apr 28, 2008

Someone switch Massive Attack with Jay-Z and put them on the Pyramid. Let's all pack out the hip hop karaoke at the Stonebridge Bar instead and show Shawn Shorey Carter how its really done

++ROBIN++

Apr 28, 2008

You are actually all morons,No I'm not American (I'll relinquish this information now because I can see your dull retort a mile off), and simply 'moron' is a good word, and one that perfectly applies to you here. This is a damn good line up, I'm only gutted I can't afford a ticket which is probably due to me having such a good time last year!Just take another look and remember this key bit of information that is so obvious NME just thought it silly to write in. You have legs. You can travel from one stage to another. There's back to back great bands just on different stages, or would you prefer the non-experience of watching all your favourites in one place; you might as well watch the highlights on TV.I'm off before I resurrect the word nincompoop.

benjsh

Apr 28, 2008

I Overslept on April 1st..... Thank god im a lazy git !!! To my surprise, glasto didn't sell out so i decided to wait for the line up to be announced before getting a ticket. Now its out, i can well and truely say im not going. Worst Line up ever at Glastonbury and i just can't see them shifting the remaining tickets.Where are Supergrass? Saw them in Manchester last week and they were ace, playing most of their cracking new album, plus a few of the oldies.Where are the phonics? One of the best bands around and a catalogue of great songs that not many bands can boast.NOT GOOD ENOUGH !!!

GLASTO-VIRGIN

Apr 28, 2008

as controversial as it may sound but Jay-Z headlining (and the prospect of him putting on a supershow to prove the doubters) was actually what attracted me to buy tix for Glasto for the 1st time. i just glazed over this announced line-up, wasn't particularly wowed initially, then i read all the whiny comments. i then went back to the line up and had a good old look at it, and the fact is that there is gonna be a lot of quality performances on display over the 3 days. Definitely £160's worth of acts that you would wanna see live, and that don't even include the 'glastonbury' factor that comes with it. i'm well excited

aimeestar

Apr 29, 2008

I completely agree with some of the above comments, I dont understand why there seems to be so much bad press about glasto this year, its part of british heritage, and i think the Eavis's have done to right thing to try and change the festival. Sure, some of the acts arnt so great, but each to there own. Glastonbury isn't about whats cool , and prehaps they have done it to get the festival back to the way it should be, to get people that actually want to be there for the experience, rather than just going because everyone else is. Plus there is about ten main stages, I'm personally holding out for the Park stage and think that Emily will do a great job. So all the people and press that are slagging it off, don't worry, you can watch it on tv and moan about it,me and 130 000 odd other people will be having a great time!

jl1030

Apr 29, 2008

there are some good acts on the line-up, but also some shit ones, very extreme. Is this the best Eavis can do to try to attract the "younger audience" to the festival?!glad i didn't get tix for this.

Plattycow

Apr 29, 2008

EVERYONE WHO IS SAYIN THE LINE UP IS SHIT....HAHAHAHA WANKERS!!You obviously dont have a clue... the bands that are playin are immense... Byfo Clyro, seasick steve, MGNT, the ting tings, lightspeed champion, goldfrapp, the pigeon detectives CROWDED HOUSE (need i go on).... these are the people u wanna be watchin... arctic monkeys and killers, yeah they are good but get with it.... gettin more POP by each single released... and why is everyone judgin glasto for the line up ALL THE OTHER THINGS ARE IMMENSE... a fuckin silent rave one night... does reading or V have anything other than music? DOES IT HAVE THE MUD and free love?? GLASTO ALL THE WAY.... CURSES ON THE PEOPLE DISSIN IT!!! See u at a westlife Gig....

Apr 29, 2008

Ive been to glasto the last few years, and i am genuinly more disappointed wit the line up, than normal. However I think its getting a bad rap and will realise once i arive there how stupid my misgivings were. Theres always been shit bands on at glastonbury (Mika?) however the line up does stink of demographic targetting. With the Jay Z thing, i probably wont go and see him, not cos i dont like rap, but it woulda been a lot better to get Dre/Eminem in rather than a rapper, whose best known songs are a duet with his gilfriend and a song from Oliver.!However Eavis must be applauded for the Space Rock feel of sunday night. Brian Jonestown Massacre, Spiritualized,The National and The Verve will do me for Sunday. Rock n roll

nancy@yoyo.org

Apr 29, 2008

The greatest critics of the lineup seem to be from people who aren't actually going. So tell me why do you even care?I'll be there, spoilt for choice of where to be and who to see and generally enjoying my socks off at the greatest festival on earth.

ruduger

Apr 29, 2008

interesting line up not the best not the worst.good to see aussies hilltop hoods, crowded house and hodoo gurus on the bill.are radiohead free on the 28th before jayz?

thinboyslim

Apr 29, 2008

Overall its a good line up, a fantastic mix of music but I wouldn't say there's a headliner, no one big name you can point to and say "this is the focal point of the weekend, this IS the reason i'm going". if i was going to spend the money on this i'd need to know i was going to see something special, not a bunch of bands i can see in the city on any given week and a hip hop producer.

MATMOY

Apr 29, 2008

Glasto is not about the music, it's one big adventure of discovery lost in a magical world.

deadly999

Apr 29, 2008

The line-up is only a small part of the whole experience, as stated above this is three stages out of many !! People can go to Reading, ok the line-up is pretty good but you are herded out of the main arena after the last band, its like being 15 again and having a curfew. Glasters goes on 24hrs non stop. Keep your Readings !! I've been to all and only Bestival can be held in the same bracket !

Martone

Apr 29, 2008

stop your moaning and go to glastonbury, its going to be ace like it always is. fed up of you miserable bastards, you need to stop bitchin about bands who have got 10 times the talent you can ever hope for and start enjoying yourselves.

SOMERSET BOI

Apr 29, 2008

Im purely going for the acoustic , underground and experimental side of things they do at Glastonbury because they do that better than anyone. Glastonbury has allways been about fresh music and fresh culture, so i think people want to take a step back and think about it....Glastonbury is only reflecting on the main stages, what is gonig on in mainstream music and what is going on is shite apart from a few. There are plenty of other stages and tents at Glastonbury with all kinds of wierd and wonderfull music so open your mind and find something a little left of the norm you never know, you mite like it.....

gaterwatch

Apr 29, 2008

I think the line-up is pretty damn good! There are some amazing bands in there (the Verve, seriously!!), as well as stuff that hasn't made it big yet - and why go to a festival if you aren't open to hearing new stuff?! Anyone who has ever been knows that the music isn't the whole essence of Glasto - you could quite easily go the whole weekend without seeing a single band and still have the best time ever. Everyone who goes will find something they love, whether its a big famous band, something new that no-one's heard of, or the crowds of bongo players at the stone circle late at night.

tezzasmif

Apr 29, 2008

Did anyone commenting actually attend glasto last year or in 2005? I went in 1993 and 2000- wicked! -you could walk on solid ground, catch a bit of sun & meander to the different stages to see the bands. Fast forward to 2005 and '07 both of which I also went to, and basically we had to wade through shit for the whole weekends, bit like joining the TA. Forget walking from stage to stage to see the bands- well worth almost 200 quid, I think not. PS picture at top of page of last years event must have been airbrushed- there wasnt one blade of grass in sight by the time festival began on the Friday, merely one giant bog of shit that Mr Eavis didnt bother to sort out.

"Lets all throw bottles at JayZ... That'll show 'em!"How open minded of you! I think you belong at Reading!

Bunch of moaning goons. Ok, the headliners may be "weak" for some people in comparison to prior years (personally I am pretty happy with KOL, Verve and Massive Attack/ Hot Chip, if you aren't a big Jay-Z fan, as I am not, go and watch someone else... there's plenty bloody stages!!!) but what are you gonna be doing, sat sleeping in your tent until 9pm every night? The quality of the new and up and coming bands here is off the wall! Look at the John Peel Stage on Fri! I will be there from 11am until after the Cribs then make my way to listen to KOL whilst getting leathred at the Mandella Bar! There are so many good new or relateivly new bands here it is unreal! Plus there are loads more to come! or be announced! This is a fraction of the total bands who will be there! And ok there is no Lost Vagueness, and yes it was insanely good, but there is no doubt that there will be a great replacement event! Bloody hell are unreceptive to change are you? Don't f*cking go if you are just gonna moan, and if you do go after moaning and have a good time I hope you drown in the mud! I jest - go and have a good time, trust me when looking through your pics in July you will be weeping wishing you were back there! You cannot compare Reading to Glasto! Yes it gets good bands, but they are a different type of festival, if Reading is a fesival a all! Shut up moaning and have a good time for f&ck's sake! PS - Crystal Castles on Sunday will be MESSY. PPS agree with Martone shut up moaning you cunnies!

FOR FECK SAKES! Not only does the lineup make me want to throw up blood, but my two fave bands clash!!!!!!!! Massive Attack on same day as UNKLE omg...... the only two acts I was really looking forward to and now I have to choose. Michael can I have my 160 quid back please?Im sure im not the only person whos going to feel the burning pain of this clash, both bands are kinda trip hop After so many years how can Eavis not know his crowd? And tbh, Emily isn't doing a good job, just because shes his daughter doesn't mean shes going to be amazing at target research. Get some people to help you who really know the music industry, ask the people who love glastonbury WHAT THEY WANT TO SEE! Pukkelpop festival does this, why can't glastonbury? So much music at the moment sounds the same, Im going to be walking round this otherwise wonderful festival and every tent is going to sound the same, some whiney spotty teenage manufactured child singer wearing a pink shirt and grey cardigan, I wont be able to get away from it, my god, and its probably going to rain, im going to be locked in this creepy nightmare world in which there is only bad indie pop. Oh god, Im going to have to take alot of drugs to get through this one...then I'll most probably have to go to rehab and end up having flash backs of goblins dressed in ben sherman shirts whining down magical microphones, it'll send me insane and, the downward spiral will finish with my taking my own life to escape the indie gremlins.thanks glastonbury, thanstonbury

I can totally believe the reaction to this years line up, it doesn't surprise me at all. Take one look at the readers wish list of festival bands on this site; 1:OASIS, 2: ARCTIC MONKEYS, 3: THE KILLERS, 4: MUSE (MUSE?!!), 5: KINGS OF LEON, 6: RADIOHEAD!! No prizes for guessing the next 4. I also guarantee that the majority of negativity that you'll be reading on this blog will be from 'music fans' that listen to the Chris Moyles show every single day. Attention to all those who love their music and love listening to new music. First of all, Glastonbury will be awesome, and don't rise to these know-it-all, jumped up, can't spell Leonard Cohen for west country toffee muppets! Secondly is it not a good thing that finally these people have been put off from buying these tickets which we wanted and still want so desperately? Now to all those who are still complaining about the line-up and seem bewildered that Jay Z, a real black man from America is headlining, I quote:"Even ignoring the whole Jay Z bollocks, that is terrible, terrible line-up. Thank God for this years Reading line-up!" and "Let's all throw bottles at Jay Z..."!What-the-fuck! J. Peel would turn in his grave if he could see this bullshit! All those applicable please, please go to Reading. The only thing that could possibly ruin this festival is the weather. Followed closely by Mika!Good work Mr Eavis.

i think last year went better artists. wehre are arctic monkeys, the kooks, muse, the view? the only ones that are good, for me, are We Are Scientists, if they play song of their second cd, because the last one is not so good, the fratellis, that their second cd don't go out yet, the wombats, mark ronson, that also went in 2007 and panic at tne disco, but i think their last cd is not good, the first one is amazing, with the pano, the guitar and that crazy music like if you were in a theatre, but the second is more like The Beatles. really, i don't know if it's that last year was the best glastonbury festival or that this year is a not good, or probably both thing. although all this glastonbury is the best festival of the world

Can i just say the first person who commented on here is talking complte rubish. Last years acts of arctic monkeys and the killers were awsum, you also had other great bands such as kasabian and the kooks so i feel last year was very succesfull. However one thing that i think glasto sliped up on was not letting chillies play this year, they have a great following, great songs and they know how to perform on the greatist stage, they even offerd to play for free. Glasto do need to up it next year, we need a big healine set such as muse and oasis if its going to keep its status as the best festival in the world!!!
