Glastonbury organisers predicting good weather

Met Office experts aren't so sure though

Glastonbury organisers are "quietly confident" that the Somerset festival will see good weather for the first time in five years.

Festival supremo Michael Eavis has apparently told The Guardian that he's hoping that the old adage "oak before ash, then we'll only have a splash" is true, as this spring has seen an abundance of early oak leaves.

Organisers of the festival, this year headlined by The Verve, Kings Of Leon and Jay-Z, are planning for good weather by booking up hosepipes, ice cream sellers and suncream for the event.

A fleet of bowser tanks have also been booked to spray water on the fields to prevent excess dust at the event, set to run from June 27-29.

However, the newspaper also reported that a spokesperson for The Met Office stated that rain was "more likely to be either near, or above average" for the time of year.

Sounds like a desperate cry to sell the remaining tickets.

spray86, how? In any way, shape or form is that "a desperate cry to sell the remaining tickets"? I'm actually truely shocked at how narrow minded some NME readers can be, before this whole fiasco I assumed that people were brave enough to step away from the standard stuff and try something new, but no, just because there's a few acts they don't like, people are prepared to write off an entire festival! There's fucking millions of acts there I don't see why people are so upset about three or four of them.
