Glasvegas bring on the showers at Glastonbury

Scots' lyrics prove prophetic on the John Peel Stage

Glasvegas' lyrics proved eerily prophetic, as they performed on the John Peel Stage at Glastonbury this afternoon (June 27) at 1pm (BST).

During the end of opener 'Flowers And Football Tops', James Allan detoured into a version of popular standard 'You Are My Sunshine'.

Rain began to lash down outside the tent as he sang the words, "you make me happy when skies are grey".

With frontman James Allan wearing his now-trademark Ray Ban sunglasses and the band clad in black, Glasvegas performed songs including recent single 'Geraldine' plus 'Go Square Go' and 2007 debut single 'Daddy's Gone', both of which prompted mass sing-alongs in the crowd.

After their seven-song set, Glasvegas left the stage to mass applause, Allan making kissing gestures and tapping his chest to acknowledge the response from the large crowd.
