Joan Baez plays closing set at Glastonbury 2008

Folk singer brings Acoustic Tent to a close

Joan Baez has closed the Acoustic Tent on the final night (June 29) year's Glastonbury festival.

The folk singer – and former Bob Dylan collaborator – packed out the tent as revellers made the most of the last night of this year.

Her set included a cover of Dylan's 'A Hard Rain's A-Gonna Fall', as well as traditional standard 'Amazing Grace'.

Joan Baez played:

'Farewell, Angelina'
'Fennario'
'A Hard Rain's A-Gonna Fall'
'Long Black Veil'
'Gospel Ship'
'Christmas In Washington'
'El Preso Numero Nueve'
'Rose Of Sharon'
'Amazing Grace'
'Diamonds And Rust'
'There But For Fortune'
'Suzanne'

A fantastic close to a fantastic festival. She seemed really up for it and was entertaining throughout with stories and funny anecdotes, even mimicking Bob Dylan on one song. Unfortunately, she didn’t actually play “Hard Rain” – instead she played the equally brilliant “With God on our side”
