Glastonbury Festival to show England World Cup match

Organisers stay silent over England's possible knock out stage showdown

Glastonbury Festival to show England World Cup match

Glastonbury festival organiser Emily Eavis has confirmed that an England World Cup 2010 match will definitely be broadcast at the bash.

England are due to play Slovenia in their final group game of the World Cup at 3pm (BST) on June 23 – the same day the festival opens to the public.

Eavis used her Twitter account to respond to queries about whether the match would be broadcast on the Pyramid Stage at Glastonbury. She Tweeted: "Yes, we'll be showing the Weds game on the Pyramid screens."

However, Eavis did not state whether Glastonbury would broadcast England's possible next game, which – presuming the team qualify for the knockout stages of the competition – is due to take place either at 7:30pm on Saturday, June 27 or at 3pm on June 28.
