Michael Eavis confirms two headline acts for Glastonbury 2011

Michael Eavis confirms two headline acts for Glastonbury 2011

Glastonbury organiser Michael Eavis has said he has booked two of the headline acts for next year's festival.

Eavis said he was "absolutely thrilled" with his choices, though he declined to reveal who they were. He also told BBC News that he has asked U2 to headline the festival on the Friday (June 24) night as the third headliner, though he added that he hasn't received a response from the Irish band yet.

The four-piece were forced to pull out of headlining this year's festival after frontman Bono injured his back.

Speaking at a press conference at the festival in June, Eavis said he had sorted all three headline acts for the 2011 event – but the new interview is the first time he has confirmed that bookings have taken place.

Glastonbury takes place on June 24-26 next year.
