UPDATE - David Cameron 'devastated' over Tory chairman Christopher Shale's death at Glastonbury

A man has been found dead in a portable toilet in the VIP backstage area of Glastonbury festival this morning (June 26).

Avon and Somerset Police found the body of the man, who has been named as Christopher Shale, chairman of West Oxfordshire Conservative Association, at around 9am (BST). The cause of death has not yet been revealed.

Officers have sectioned off an area in the backstage zone and are currently investigating the circumstances around his death. Sky News reports that a woman was seen being comforted by officers earlier this morning in the area, which is between the main Pyramid Stage and the Other Stage.

Today is the final day of this year’s Glastonbury festival. Beyonce is scheduled to head up the Pyramid Stage this evening as the final headliner.
